The TahitiKAL 5.0 is around the corner

The cloth is named “MAURU-URU,” which means “THANK YOU” in the Tahitian language. We would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been following TahitiKAL for years, looking forward to every release of the new pattern, taking on the challenge and learning one or two new techniques in the process. And of course share the joy of hitting together with us. The new MAURU-URU shawl will also combine a popular shape with an exciting construction. For the KnitAlong itself we say “do not change a winning team”.

TahitiKAL - how to join

You would like to know what you need to join in the knitting?

First of all, a little adventurousness, because it's a MysteryKAL and so you don't know exactly what the scarf will look like. We can tell you that it is again a symmetrical triangular scarf with a new construction. Ms. Feinmotorik made sure that all four pieces took about the same amount of time and that each pattern could be knitted in two weeks. As in previous years, you will need a total of four balls of Tahiti. The design is designed so that you can work with two different colors, but you don't have to. Most Schachenmayr Tahiti colors have a very long color gradient and the cloth will look very beautiful even in one color. Promised!

We have mentioned already that Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine 285 Lace is also the perfect material for a  more wooly version of the Tahiti shawl. Here too there are great, long color gradients that are perfect for this year's design.

Dank der höheren Zahl von Einzelfäden im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Merino-Garnen bleiben Ihre weichen Lieblingsteile länger schön und sind dabei besonders pflegeleicht. Whatever you decide, you will have a new favorite shawl by the end of the KnitAlong and can look back on a wonderful knitting experience that you share with many fellow knitters. You can show your project and your progress and also follow that of other participants on Instagram, Facebook and Ravelry. Where exactly we have listed for you here:

Instagram: Use the hashtag #TahitiKAL on Instagram and link @feinmotorik.blogspot and @schachenmayr in the picture and text so that we can find your post.

Facebook: On Facebook you can post your pictures in the Schachenmayr Maschentreff group.

Ravelry: Create your project on Ravelry and link it to the Mauru'uru design. This way you can easily find all of the other knitters' projects for the Mystery KAL and create a great library with the results. In addition, every linked project is also a sign of appreciation for the designer Ms. Feinmotorik.

MALUHIA TahitiKAL23, S11204
“Maluhia” means “peace” in the Hawaiian language. Not only in Ukraine but also in so many other countries around the world people cannot live in peace. We cannot ensure peace with the TahitiKAL, but we can desire it. For the 4th TahitiKAL, Julia-Maria Hegenbarth aka Frau Feinmotorik designed the summery, crescent-shaped scarf MALUHIA, which has an edge in an unusual lace pattern.

Now that we can all work the single-color and the two-color brioche pattern, we will raise the difficulty level one step further: in part 4, we will learn how to work two-color brioche in a real stitch pattern. In this part there will be three more new stitches that we need to learn: a right-slanting brioche decrease, a left-slanting brioche decrease and a fou-stitch brioche increase.

Last but not least! Enjoy the 4th section of the #TahitiKAL Mahana from and with Frau Feinmotorik! Tahiti is not only an island in the South Pacific: it is also an extraordinarily light, summery cotton yarn from Schachenmayr that is perfect for light, airy patterns. And ‘Mahana’ means "sun" in the Tahitian language. So we, Schachenmayr and I, would like to invite you to join us in knitting a summery shawl in four stages. #TahitiKAL #mahanshawl
