The tapestry technique used for these functional baskets worked in Catania and Catania Grande offers many opportunities to play with patterns and colors. As the color that is not worked is carried along the previous row and then "looped" with the current working color, there are no floats and your project gains stability. Both the base worked in "normal" single crochet stitches as well as the sides are crocheted in spiral rounds – all in one piece without requiring any seaming. The instructions include two sizes: The small basket in Catania has a circumference of approx. 24 cm/9.4 in. and a height of approx. 23 cm/9 in. The large basket worked in Catania Grande has a circumference of approx. 38 cm/15 in. and a height of 35 cm/13.7 in. Two great projects to familiarize yourself with the tapestry technique.
