The shawl in our mystery knitalong this year is called “Mauru'uru”, which means “thank you” in the Tahitian language. We would like to say a big thank you to all of you for your participation in what is now the fifth TahitiKAL.
These instructions are a free offer to anyone who would like to knit along. If you don't like the shawl or would rather be on the safe side and see the full design first, you can simply knit one of the other four free TahitiKAL designs that have been published so far instead.
All sections build on each other in shape and number of stitches. If you are considering making adjustments to the scarf (larger or smaller), please wait until all 4 sections have appeared so you can then make your calculations.
If you would rather knit pure Merino wool instead of cotton, you can simply use Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine 285. The yarn has an almost identical running length and can replace the Schachenmayr Tahiti without any further adjustments.
A comfortabale poncho-jacket without buttons – worked in stockinette in Schachenmayr Catania Color. The garment is knitted very loosely so that it falls smoothly around the body.

For the MIKANO Slipover in one size, simply knit two rectangles in stockinette stitch and different lengths with a cuff in a moss stitch. For a particularly beautiful, airy fall, the model is knitted very loosely. Then all you have to do is close the shoulder seams and sew on the side ties. The casual “overcoat” is ready to wear.
The instructions are available in German, English, French and Dutch.
Shawl VILAINE is started at one corner and increasing on one side creates the triangular shape. A great introductory project to knitting because you only have to knit right stitches until your ball is finished. Shortly before the end of the ball you bind off and with just one ball of the “Limited Edition” Jara (100 g) you create a cloth measuring approx. 117 x 80 cm. The instructions are available in German, English, French and Dutch.
NILA is a small triangular shawl made from Schachenmayr Catania Color and is knitted with slightly thicker needles. When knitted so loosely, the small scarf (approx. 25 x 91 cm) is not only comfortable to wear, you can knit it from just one ball of Catania Color.
The instructions are available in German, English, French and Dutch.
Triangular scarf ORLA is a narrow triangular scarf (approx. 37 x 190 cm) in which the color gradient comes directly from the ball. The Schachenmayr Ocean Drop yarn is available as a "Limited Edition" in 150 g balls in six colors and the ORLA scarf can be knitted from one ball.
The instructions are available in DE, EN, FR and NL.

Isn't it beautiful? Our knitted skirt SORAYA is the absolute must-have for this season. The skirt is knitted from the bottom up with waist shaping decreases, a slit for the zipper and a final plain knit waistband for an elastic band. The cardigan MINA invites with its light oversize cut, the wide bat sleeves and of course the cuddly soft quality Mohair Dream directly to put on, snuggle in and feel good. The knitting trick of MINA is its cut construction. This runs from right to left and conjures up the ultimate unique look of longitudinal stripes.

Make one out of three! The mottled look of AVA is created by knitting 3 colors at the same time. The tones Fresh, Earth and Berry Dream Color form an absolutely harmonious and unique color gradient. AVA is knitted at a needle size of 7 mm pretty quickly from the turtleneck down (top-down) and the sleeves knitted at the end. Doesn't that make you want to combine the next three colors and knit AVA 2.0?

“Maluhia” means “peace” in the Hawaiian language. Not only in Ukraine but also in so many other countries around the world people cannot live in peace. We cannot ensure peace with the TahitiKAL, but we can desire it.
For the 4th TahitiKAL, Julia-Maria Hegenbarth aka Frau Feinmotorik designed the summery, crescent-shaped scarf MALUHIA, which has an edge in an unusual lace pattern.
