It´s always a nice gift for a new arrival: hand knitted baby booties. Especially during the colder months, it´s nice to just pull the bootiess over a onesie or socks. Thanks to the patterned shaft edge, they fit snuggly without being uncomfortably tight. If you have worked with DPN´s or have knitted socks before, then the instructions will not seem that difficult, perfect for knitflix, and the booties will be done in one evening. We worked them with Baby Smiles Bravo Baby 185. Thanks to the same gauge, you can work them in Baby Smiles Cotton or Cotton Bamboo to make a summer version. Instructions are for foot lengths of 10, 11 and 12 cm (approx. 4, 4.3 and 4.7 in), from 0-12 months. It might be a good idea to knit them a size larger to begin with, as the little ones seem to grow so fast. The same design is also available for a thicker yarn weight, look for design NOEL BS60101.
